TALENT IS EVERYWHERE. OPPORTUNITY ISN’T.
Too many young people grow up without access to computer science education—or the opportunity to meet someone working in technology.
Bold Idea brings low-cost, project-based learning and professional mentorship directly to students in under-resourced communities. Along the way, students gain more than technical skills. They build confidence, discover new possibilities, and begin to see themselves as the innovators, creators, and leaders of the future.
ACCESS
We bring low-cost computer science education directly to schools and communities where opportunities are limited.
EXPOSURE
Students meet technology professionals, explore real careers, and discover possibilities they may never have encountered.
BELONGING
Encouragement and sustained mentorship help students see that technology is a place where they belong.
PATHWAYS
Students build skills, relationships, and confidence that can carry them from the classroom into college and future careers.
Where Bold Ideas Begin to Take Shape
CODING CLUBS
Target Audience: 3rd - 12th Grade Students
Whether students are just getting started with coding or already have some experience, Coding Clubs provide a supportive and fun environment where they can develop essential technical skills and bring their creative ideas to life.
Students work on hands-on coding projects, such as building their own games, websites, or animations, while learning programming languages like Scratch, Python, and JavaScript. Each session focuses on solving real-world problems, fostering collaboration, critical thinking, and innovation.
A unique feature of Coding Clubs is the mentorship provided by technology professionals. These mentors volunteer their time to guide students through their projects, offering personalized advice, inspiration, and insight into the tech industry. Mentors serve as role models, showing students the many pathways they can pursue in technology and providing encouragement every step of the way.

SUMMER CODING CAMP
Each of our Summer Coding Camps combines hands-on learning in a computer programming language with support from mentors who work in a technology field. Students will complete the summer with a website or video game project to share with family and friends.
No prior coding experience is required.

PATHWAY FINDERS
Pathway Finders, Bold Idea’s career readiness initiative, addresses this misalignment by reimagining how students are engaged from an early age with critical exposure throughout their K-12 education. Through intentional mentorship, hands-on technical skill-building, and direct connections to employers, Pathway Finders ensures students build confidence and agency in career decision-making.
As a result, students can make academic and career decisions with the guidance or mentorship needed to gain clarity about technology career pathways.
